Lives and works between London and Istanbul. After her BA in Philosophy, she moved to Italy where she graduated in Photography from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin. She recently completed her MA in Photography at the Royal College of Art, London.

Her works embrace performance, video and photography, often interrelating one another. Exploring aesthetics that draw from literature to medieval symbolism, her research embraces subjects recalling her autobiographical past and personal experiences. Silent landscapes, home to ancient Biblical and Koranic stories, an unconscious sense of guilt, the peremptory presence of a feminine person: through these metaphors she reinterprets archetypes and myths belonging to the origins and classical traditions of the Mediterranean area.

The first of two photographic series realized during several years, Melancholia I is a personal meditation on the experience of melancholia, represented through iconic and symbolic images.
