Nature is my Kingdom
The natural scenery of an untouched and yet to be explored America, able to revive the myth of the frontier and turn on the call of the forest that burned so many authors of the North American literature of the late nineteenth century, is at the heart of the great Ansel Adams retrospective . Nature is my kingdom celebrates the great master of American photography a little more than a century after his birth.
This is the first major exhibition entirely dedicated to Adams in our country and certainly one of the most important in Europe. The final selection of works includes more than 70 photographs – only original vintage prints, made from the same Adams – from international museums, private collectors and prestigious American galleries.
From the peaks and valleys of Yosemite to the majestic forms of the canyons of Arizona, from the dense forests of giant redwoods to the sinuous lines of the rivers, Adams’ images transcend mere documentation, revealing the sublime magnificence of nature, the very essence of beauty.
The exhibition is included in the program of festivalfilosofia, which in the edition of 2011 is dedicated to the theme “Nature”.
