Axel Hütte

Fantasmi e realtà

Fondazione Fotografia Modena presents a new solo exhibition of the German photographer Axel Hütte, organized in collaboration with Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice. The exhibition features a group of works realized during his artistic residency in Italy, in 2011-2012. The landscape of Modenese Appennines is observed through the relation with the Alpine landscape. The point of view is mysterious and the specific light is the protagonist that leads the beholder from the natural towards the supernatural: mountain peaks covered by clouds, dark clouds indicating a forthcoming storm, or fog and haze disturbing the gaze, transforming reality into a fantasma. Further works on display lead the observer through other visions of Nature, from the reflecting water of Rio Negro to Norwegian glaciers: sublime and allucinating places, where the gaze is fascinated by the majestic of the landscape and the perception of reality seems to be uncertain.
