Daido Moriyama. The world though my eyes
Considered one of the greatest masters of contemporary Japanese photography, Daido Moriyama is a photographer on the road, a lone traveller who recounts visions and worlds hidden just beneath the surface of reality.
This exhibition present 120 photographs, realized from the 1960s to our days. Day by day, during all his lifelong career, Moriyama has been taking thousands of photos, carrying on a ceaseless research. His pictures – contrasting black and white, often unfocused, grainy, scratched and overexposed – draw the whole artist’s existence: that of a bashful, solitary “hunter-photographer”, rootless and free from social conventions.
