Photographs from the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena Collection at CAMeC, La Spezia

A new exhibition from the collections of contemporary photography of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Modena will be held at CAMeC in La Spezia – Italy, curated by Francesca Cattoi and Filippo Maggia.

On display there will be a selection of photographs and videoworks about the idea of a humanity “hanging in the balance”, a feeling that keeps repeating in history – sometimes harsh and merciless, other times full of anxiety and devoid of any reference points, often accompanied by a mournful resignation. The ordinary/extraordinary life of the protagonists is also described by the exploration of the natural and urban setting in which the scenes take place: more than just background elements, places have a primary role, sharing the same problematic condition of their inhabitants.
