The Collector’s Choice
Works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection
The collection of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is one of the largest Italian collections of contemporary art. Launched in 1992, has always stood out for its attention to the present age, including almost exclusive works from the Eighties to the present.
The course housed in the space of Fondazione Fotografia is designed as a journey through photographic researches that have led to some of the most important developments in international art of the last decades: from Cindy Sherman to Thomas Ruff, from Matthew Barney to Jeff Wall and many other big names in photography.
Moreover this exhibition is also the story of a collection from the point of view of those who both wanted and created it. Going through the choices and directions taken the meaning of the collection emerges: a thin red thread made of bets and great passion, as well as the support of young researchers in contemporary art.
