A LATO (2016)
A LATO is a photographic project made up of 20 shots projected onto the wall in a slideshow. The intention is to create a poetic dialogue between memories and life, spaces and voids, presence and absence.
A place where time seems not to exist and relational experience with the cycle of life changes perspective, dissolving between real forms and passing emotions, without fear or necessary distances.
Faces and gazes are immersed between air and concrete, reaching beyond architectural boundaries, animating sentiments, almost as if shaping life itself. The saturated colours reflect the desire to fuse the intangible with the real in the magical attempt to guard fragments, affections and memories.
The photographic tale is taken from the unfinished work by the architect Aldo Rossi in the Cemetery Complex of San Cataldo in Modena.
Francesca Ferrari lives and works in Modena and traveling around the world: through her works she explores and captures real life, but mostly the emotions deriving from it; she pursues with her pictures and videos the continuous search for fragments of happiness, as a subversive act against the everyday routine.
The work Attraverso is composed of 15 pictures that allow the eyes of the visitor to fluctuate through nuances and shades, through blurry and dense images, leading him in an itinerary of visual expansion and contraction.
