Francesco Jodice was born in Naples, in 1967, but he works and lives in Milan. Degree in Architecture, he has worked in artistic field since 1995. From the very beginning of his professional research, held in urban sector, he has focused his works on the analysis of new relationship between social behaviour and urban landscape in the different geographical settings. In 2000 he was one of the founder of Multiplicity, an international network of architects and artists that develops inter-disciplinary researches about the urban transformation process. Since 2004 he has taught “Theory and practice of technological image” at University of Bolzano, and since 2005 “Visual urban Anthropology” at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan.
He took part to important exhibition events all over the world. Among his last shows: Film retrospective_Fair Play at Kunsthalle in Lugano, 2008; I can see you house from here at Museion in Bolzano, 2009; Dubai Citytellers at Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia in Madrid, Citytellers at MAMbo in Bologna, 2010. Among collective exhibitions: the Biennale in Liverpool, 2004; Saison Italienne at Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris, Ecotopia at International Centre of Photography in New York, the XXVII Biennale in San Paolo in Brazil, 2006; Global Cities at Tate Modern in London, 2007; Stories on Human Rights presented at XXI Tokyo Film Festival and at the Théâtre National de Chaillot in Paris, Per una collezione di fotografia at Castello di Rivoli in Torino, L’Alba di Domani at the Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art in Istanbul, Post-it City at CCCB in Barcellona, 2008; Da Guarene all’Etna at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Guarene d’Alba, 2009.
Along with Multiplicity he has participated to Documenta 11 in Kassel in 2002, to X Biennale Internazionale di Fotografia in Torino and in 2003 to 50° Biennale in Venice.
